Colin Day received his AMusA in classical guitar and has been teaching guitar and bass for over 20 years in the Blue Mountains. His versatility is one of his strengths as a teacher; he can help pursue an interest in rock but still provides a strong foundation in theory. Colin enjoys teaching new students on the guitar, as well as, guiding more advanced students through their grades and various techniques.
His roots are a combination of classical and jazz. He appreciates the technical challenge of classical playing but gravitates toward the freedom of expression that jazz allows. Colin has performed in concerts with renowned bassist Bruce Cale and with Shakuhachi Master Bronwyn Kirkpatrick. In the last few years Colin has explored rock and progressive ensemble improvisation with Loose Mamaa and folk/blues withthe sultry and expressive Soular Spill.
